And no one's really sure who's lettin' go today: the November Newsletter
Y’all, the year is almost over and I just can’t. I am not ready. Where can I get a couple of extra months?
News
I’ve started the next book. There, I said it.
I’ve started it and the plan is for it to be out late spring or summer of 2024. It’s Jimmy’s third go around and do I have some plans for this one…
But, before that happened…
A Little Special Sumthin’ Sumthin’
At the download below, you’ll find a bit of flash fiction I wrote not to long ago that I wanted to share. Initially it started out as the opening of a play, and…
Well, the play wasn’t very good. So, I stripped out the things I loved and turned it into something else. Hope you enjoy it!
Book recommendation
The last one of the year as December I’ll do a round up of the other recommendations!
A documentary filmmaker takes on the disappearance of a famous mystery writer in Her Dying Day by Mindy Carlson.
After changing her thesis film again and again — to the frustration of her professor, the same man she’s having an affair with, June finally lands on the story of Greer Larkin, a super-star mystery writer who vanished without a trace.
It’s incredibly compelling watching June juggle her deep dive into Larkin’s last few days — something that is still fresh on the hearts and minds for the people involved — and her messy personal life with her married professor and her estranged family.
Carlson crafts a great character study with a very reading mystery. Check it out!
And that’s November. I’ll see you next month for the year’s wrap up.
