Hello, Compadres and Confidants!
WHEW. We’ve made it to 2023. A new year, new opportunities. And who isn’t looking forward to new opportunities?
A couple of things have happened since I last dropped a newsletter.
The audiobook is done! Artfully narrated by Matt Godfrey! You’ll be the first to know when it’s available for purchase! A sample below…
If you’ve had a chance to finish my book, I would be grateful if you popped over to Amazon — regardless if you got it there (shop your local bookstore, friends) — and leave a review. Reviews matter. It feeds the algorithm, putting the book in front of more people. More people, more books sales.
And, hey, book sales allow me to live the life of luxury I have grown accustomed to.
If not for me, then for your favorite living authors, especially those that don’t have the fanbase they deserve.
This month it’s Jordan Harper’s She Rides Shotgun. I picked it up a few years ago and I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner. This book is a treat, friends. If you like pulse pounding thrillers with a great Father/Daughter story, then this is the book for you. A hit is put on an ex-con, his ex-wife and their daughter by SoCal White Power assholes. After the ex-wife is killed, it’s up to the ex-con to keep his daughter safe while trying to find a way out of the mess. As he comes to grips with the mistakes that he’s made that lead to all this, she has to grow up too soon.
I’m a sucker for bad guys getting back at even badder guys, and the book has a lot of badder guys worthy of a good punch in the nose, and more. It all comes together in a satisfying, surprising and heartbreaking way. Get yourself a copy!
Also: Harper has a new book out, Everybody Knows, and I’m snagging my copy soon.
Until next time!
